Johnny’s Icicle Club
Introduction to the Ice Rink/Surface for 2-3 year olds. Creating positive first experiences for youngsters. Exploring the rink and all the fun it has to offer before introducing them to structured classes.
Johnny’s Learn to Skate 1 & 2
LTS 1 begins introducing skaters to some structure and fundamentals with a quality coaching ratio. Falling down and getting up. Shuffling and navigating. High emphasis on fun along with foundational development.
LTS 2 continues to build on those fundamentals while introducing new skills such as stopping and backwards skating. Still a high emphasis on fun!
Johnny’s Junior Jets Youth Hockey
Junior Jets 1 is your kiddo’s first practices in full hockey equipment. High emphasis is still on basic skating fundamentals and principles. We start to introduce pucks and scrimmages in Junior Jets 1.
Junior Jets 2 your skater now has some foundational skating skills and we are able to start to introduce more stick and puck skills & drills. All classes offer some free time at the beginning of class as well as an end of class scrimmage.

2026 Winter Session
All youth classes are held at Johnny’s Icehouse WEST (2550 W. Madison) in the Annex Studio Rink.

Icicle Club, 1-4 years
In our Icicle Club Program, youngsters enjoy 30 minutes of ice time with a parent or guardian. This is the perfect class for little ones to be introduced to the ice rink. Get them familiar with the sights and sounds of an ice rink. Skates are not mandatory for Icicle club. Establish a positive and fun first experience at the rink.
Icicle is only offered on Saturdays and Sundays, mid morning.

Learn to Skate, 4-10 years
Johnny's Learn to Skate program is for true beginners. This class is a general ice skating class and focuses on fundamentals, taught by certified coaches. Level 1 is for brand new skaters, followed by Levels 2.
Learn to Skate Classes are offered weekdays and weekends.

Junior Jets, 4-10 years
Johnny's Junior Jets is designed for kids who want to play hockey. This program focuses on hockey skating and early hockey fundamentals. There are two levels: Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced.
Jr Jets is offered weekdays and weekends.

Drop In Figure Skating
Johnny’s Icehouse West is now offering Open Freestyle/Practice Ice for Adults and Youth. Coaches are welcome to come with their students.
Cost: $20.00 per hour
Pro Fee: $4 (for coaches coaching on the ice)
