Chicago Jets Hockey Club

The Chicago Jets is Chicago's premier, Tier II youth hockey program.

Established in 2000 as a small, 70-player Tier III program, a few parents and rink management began the process of transitioning the Jets into Tier II status in 2005.

Since 2005, the Club has grown to over 400 players, with five teams at the Central States level. The Club has seen several President’s Trophies, League and State Championships, Central States League Championships, and the development of many players that have moved on to the Tier I level.

The Jets call both Johnny’s East and West their home rinks. Johnny’s West is where the majority of practices and games are played. The Jets have four designated locker rooms at Johnny’s West for their Central States teams. There is also a designated coaches’ room and other amenities. The space also includes GVN Performance, a premier hockey strength and conditioning gym. All of this space once belonged to the Chicago Blackhawks who called Johnny’s West home for eight years and three Stanley Cups (2008-2016).

The Jets offer ADM (pre-Mite), Mites, Squirts, Peewees, Bantams, and Midget U16/U18 teams. Teams compete in the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL) and the Central States Development Hockey League (CSDHL). Most newcomers to the Jets begin in the Johnny’s Grassroots programming, with Icicle Club (toddlers), Youth Learn to Skate 1: Beginner/Youth Learn to Skate 2: Intermediate/Advanced, Junior Jets 1: Beginner Hockey/Junior Jets 2: Intermediate/Advanced Hockey.
