No Experience

This class is for total beginners; adults who would love to learn how to play the great game of ice hockey but have never skated before. Participants will learn the fundamentals of skating, passing, stickhandling, and shooting. This is a basic class designed for true beginners only.

6 Months Experience

Participants should have at least 6 months experience or have graduated Hockey 101 with coach's approval. Participants should be able to complete a quick paced forward lap around the rink with control, be able to stop on at least one side, and have competent backward skating skills.

Both classes are held at Johnny's IceHouse West

The next session of 101 and 102 will begin May 14th. Due to incredibly high demand for these programs we hold a lottery for new participants. Anyone new wishing to join the class must register for the lottery which is now open. (One name per email address; one entry per name.) The lottery will be open through April 22nd at 10:00am. No one will be added to the list after that time. Please specify whether you are interested in 101 or 102. Do not sign up for both. Current participants will have 24 hours to pre-register before the lottery beginning April 23rd at 11:00am. At that time we will look at how many spots we have available for each class after pre-registration. We will then do two lotteries the morning of Wednesday, April 24th, one for 101 and one for 102. All names will be entered into a program called The Hat and a random order of names will be processed. At noon we will email the registration link to the people picked by the lottery program. They will have 24 hours to register. The remaining names will be placed on the waiting list in the order that was generated by the random drawing. Those people will be emailed letting them know they were placed on the waiting list. Everyone will be notified by noon regarding their status.

Please remember that anyone signed up for the class that the coaches feel is not right for it (i.e. a higher skill level than the class is designed for) will be asked to leave the class. Please make sure you are signing up for the class that is right for you.
