Adult Programs • FOCUSED SKILLS CLINICS FOR ADULTS • Wednesdays during Spring & Summer
Registration will open March 1st at Noon Register Online
FULL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR ALL CLASSES Power Skating Clinic March 27 - April 24, 2013 One of the biggest problems with adult hockey players is that they spend far more time working on their slap shot than on their skating. The truth is that you can have the most deadly shot in your league but if you can't skate you'll never get the chance to use it. Coach Ken spends five weeks running participants through skating drills that will improve balance, speed, control, stopping, and much more. If you're interested in becoming a better hockey player this is the place to start. Shooting/Passing Clinic June 5 - July 10, 2013 This clinic works on players' shooting abilities with an emphasis on passing. Participants will learn wrist shots, snap shots, slap shots, and backhand shots while also working on the fundamentals of passing including straight passes, touch passes, flip passes, and more. Drills will include odd man rushes, long passes and breakaways, and drop pass drills. These skills are vital to playing a solid team game. Shooting/Puck Control Clinic SOLD OUT! May 1 - May 29, 2013 This clinic will incorporate the same shooting techniques as the last one but instead of using passing drills with shooting you will learn more about puck control. Drills will focus on how to allude the opposition while keeping control of the puck and getting a shot on goal. Skills such as toe drags, backhand and forehand dekes, and body position will be emphasized. Power Skating / Scrimmage July 17 - August 21, 2013 Coach Ken runs a half hour power skate, similiar to the Power Skating Clinic in April, then ends each class with a 30 minute controlled scrimmage. During the scrimmage the whistle is blown every minute to signal a line change. This encourages players to skate a hard, one minute shift then change.
